New Wallpaper: Lost City 1280 x 960

Not the greatest scan… alright, it is a shite scan. But, I killed the big scanner and the Lexmark scanner is never good for anything save for documents. So, the subtle clouds and color in the sky are somewhat washed out, and some detail is lost as well.

Regardless, being wallpaper and all, I figured it’d at least give you a chance to preview this image whilst I work to make what I need to get a good scan of some of these recent works.

New Wallpaper: The Rescue 1280×960

This one is finally available.

It took me forever to settle on the right cropping for this one, but I managed – much of this due to regular requests to make this one available.

This painting features Abney Park’s trademarked HMS Ophelia, and was commissioned by Captain Robert Brown of the famed steampunk and retro-future band: Abney Park.

New Wallpaper: The Ruins 1280×800

This piece is somewhat based on my collaborative work with Bethalynne Bajema … That 30 foot x 10 foot mural we have sitting in our garage awaiting a studio space to display it in.

The mountain city-scape in this picture is *heavily* influenced by her creations, as well as my desire to see them as functional parts of a mountain landscape.

The original is available here: [link]

35 signed, dated, Limited Edition Giclees ($90) are available here – but the first ten are available at $55 here: [link]

20 Free IPhone (or other smart phone) desktop wallpapers

I sat up tonight making this first wave of free skins for the iphone.. why? I don’t know… I don’t even have one. They do however seem to be popular, and hopefully even people without that specific phone can use these.

These images are free to use for your own personal non-commercial use on your own phone.

There is no rule that says you specifically *have* to use them on an iphone though, if you are able to use them for any other cell phone or smart phone, please feel free. You also have my permission to change them to bitmap, gif, png, or whatever format your phone takes.

Mankind Has No Time (Desktop Wallpaper)

Mankind Has No Time 1280x960 Desktop Wallpaper

This image was the cover for the upcoming September/October issue of Gatehouse Gazette, an excellent dieselpunk, pulp, horror, sci fi, steampunk mag if you aren’t already reading it. It was originally done for the magazine in pen and ink, as per their black and white specifications, but I decided to complete the piece with color after the publication date.

This is the finished result… very vintage pulp in its look and feel.

What I was going for was a very retro sort of Neon Genesis Evangelion sort of concept…of course what it translated to, especially with the 1940’s technology looks very “War of the Worlds”, both of which made it an enjoyable and fun piece to do.

Steampunk Wallpaper: Behold the Machine

I’m submitting this to SteampunkWallPaper.com tonight, but I thought I would offer it here as well.

Coming soon will be other wallpapers from my artworks – I plan to do one a week, if all goes well. Though my source images for prints are each over 30,000 pixels wide, and these only 1680 – I have a bit of anxiety when it comes to these things, expecting to find Chinese mades on Ebay or people offering them as scrap papers on Etsy.

But, I am not going to make new friendships being so paranoid, and I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. You know – I have an easier time stripping at a bar than I do putting images out there without watermarks in them – this *should* feel somewhat exhilarating. Perhaps it will after I post.

I don’t care if you send these to your friends. All is fine if you email them, give them to others on disk or via upload, put them on your site… as long as my copyright stays intact, and they are not used for any commercial purpose, or resold, and as long as no derivative works are made from them (prints, web graphics, hand bags, ice cream flavors, broadway musicals, etc…). Actually, Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported sums up my terms nicely.

Anyway here goes:
