The ($255) special-priced editions at Etsy (ettadiem.etsy.com) have run out… within minutes of posting about it actually. The price will remain at $265 here, on Etsy, and the Miskatonic Archive through Monday, August the 18th before bumping it up to something more sane, simply for the sake of giving fair warning.

The 24x36s ($89 – only 10 left) will also be ending on Monday August the 18th. This shop has run out of them, but there are 6 left at The Miskatonic Archive. They are absolutely beautiful in metallic sheen BTW, and I really wish I had not limited these to twenty (especially since I want one for myself).

The cost in time and money involved in just packaging and handling the giclees is high, and all of these are selling so quickly that I am working very long days just to catch up on shipping and at the same time keep up with my clients’ needs.

In retrospect, I see limiting them to 50 or 20 just caused a bit of a frenzy, and put a serious amount of work on my table. There really is no way to unlimit an edition, or to move the quantities up – but for future artworks, I will limit my editions to 295, or 195, or 95 – and not 50 or 20.

The open editions, are made primarily for this reason, so that people can have nice sized versions of this artwork cheaply and without the time/money expense of certificates and such. Though still a nice size, they are smaller than the limiteds and uncertified, so as not to devalue the limited editions. They still dress up a wall, entry table, book case, cabin, or galley quite nicely.

But… They are not necessarily guaranteed to remain in print, as Abney Park has been so incredibly good to me and good for me that I do not want to make too much of my living off their icon – “The HMS Ophelia”.  I may eventually opt to bring AP Logoed posters instead, for easier storage, travel, shipping, and packaging – and so that while on the road, I can better promote Abney Park (who in case you haven’t guessed – are one of my favorite bands).

I will have other new artworks up soon, and will be working on promoting those. One in particular for another favorite band, yet to be disclosed.

It is almost 4AM – and it has been one whirlwind of a month.

Beth is out on family business, and after handling her side of the shipping for less than a week, I have decided that I should really give her a serious raise. The way she packages things, and the speed at which she does it, is nothing short of amazing.

I however, am in a room piled with prints in chairs and even more across the bed I am not using. There is cardboard everywhere, and probably a bit of blood and assorted body parts from that taping accident. I am afraid that when I do go to sleep or sit down, it is then that I will probably find the scissors and my exacto knife.

I think I may have accidentally shipped a cat, though I’ll never admit to it. I am sorry, she is yours now – and I do not know what you are talking about.

I have been working 18 hours a day without break for a while now. Offers are coming in from all over the place to do this or that, and I am shipping like crazy. I have been bouncing between correspondence, shipping, ordering, screaming at people on the phone, threatening to invade neighboring countries, waving shoes at people, and doing my regular ad design and web programming work… while dying for a chance to send the comic book off to the printers and finish my children’s book.

I am however taking time here or there for a happy dance. It is nice to sell things, not so much for the money – I don’t mark things up much, but because of the happiness of being salable.. saleable.. sale-able… all selly and stuff.

My colleagues are saying I am pricing my prints too cheaply, and they just may be right. It does not seem like I can keep any on hand this week… well, on hand and unordered anyway. This sale might end soon.

The ordered things are piling up… at least as far as the limited editions are concerned.

Currently, I am waiting on my certificates of authenticity to arrive – they should be here later today. I’d tell you the hell I went through for that, but that would be a book.

In the mean time, I am pre-packing everything, labeling everything, hand-embellishing a few giclees, and printing shipping lists and postage. Open edition prints are going out as they are ordered – limited editions will be catching up with the arrival of those certificates.

Today will be likely spent applying holograms, filling out certificates, registering those certificates, and making the post man really, really hate me.

It has always secretly bothered me when there is a print that never sells or an art post that sees little action, because I have this piece of art I absolutely love, and what I love or think is good, is simply not good enough.

Then down the line, sure enough I look at it again and see that it was not quite executed to its full potential, or presented properly, and I go back and rework it. Such was my labor for the day.

What happens with a lot of my digital work prints, since I can go back and edit them time and time again, is that people often end up with prints where there are only one or two like it in existence – which I suppose is a good thing. Just once I would like to do something and know that I am not going to dislike it or need to improve upon it a few weeks later… but such is the way art goes.

I completely reworked most everything, and have added this one to the miskatonic archive print store.

I have been working on getting my stuff together for coming conventions. I have however managed a new piece of art or two in this time, and have managed to design and redesign a few sites (Mykeamend.com being the very next).

Since my site will shortly be replaced with the new one, and since the Miskatonic Archive is a labor of love at this point in time, I am adding the new piece of artwork there first.

Why? because that store has all the options set up for you to order easily in all formats from tiny cards, to huge posters, standard prints, extra special metallic prints, puzzles, magnets and more… all sorted neatly by the particular piece of artwork… and much much easier than shopping right here.

Yesterday, when I entered the lab. This image was flickering within the holo-tubes of our computing machine. Much like the others, it bears the seal of Myke Amend.We have not yet decoded its meaning, but that will not stop us from issuing reproductions… because, as you know, we need to replace the bathing wing of the gymnasium, due to what we would like to call “a very localized storm”.

This print is available in heavy-weight luster finish archival prints, or in metallic heavy-weight luster finish archival prints.. yep.. metallic.

I just finished this piece tonight, and am glad to finally be able to show it. It is sort of steampunk / neo-victorian, sort of gothic, a bit of fantasy, a bit of science fiction, and a bit of horror, all mixed up into one.

My main goal here was to make an image that one could look at every day for a long time and always find something new, as well as to both hone and exhibit my digital painting skill.

The piece is 20 inches by 16 at 300 DPI, and highly, highly detailed down to hundredths of an inch in some places. In order to see all the detail, you would really need to buy the print, but I will try to show you some of the detail in the images below.

The 252 piece puzzle is over 10 x 13 inches, and is now available in my store.

The fine-art print is available in my store as a giclee (paint printed onto stretched canvas), and standard print on high-quality high whitepoint heavyweight archival paper in archival inks with a luster finish.

This work was inspired by my leaving the city I had lived most of my life in, the deaths and departures of the only other remaining members of our original crowd, and the closing of my club night: Necropolis. A post-Wake Destiny was the icon or character I identified most with during that period in time, and took root in my last Cincinnati painting.

The lanterns hang upside down becoming jelly-fish like creatures, their chains stretching into nowhere, and the columns are picking up root and walking following closely behind.

It ships with a handful of mini-prints of some of my other works and a handwritten and handsigned thank you note on the back of one of said prints (archival inks, heavy photographic stock, luster finish either 6×4 or 5×4 depending on the piece).

I have a buyer agreement for this item – mostly just says you cannot alter or destroy this painting, and need to let me know if you sell it or give it to someone else (so I can know where it is). This painting will be shipped when the painting is paid for *and* when the buyer agreement is faxed to me (or you can send it to me by mail).
